Nottingham Children's Hospital Paediatric Specialised Surgery and Urology
The Paediatric Surgery and Urology service at Nottingham is both a secondary (local) referral centre for children from Nottingham, and a tertiary (regional) referral centre for children from the East Midlands.
Nottingham Children's Hospital is part of Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. The wards and departments are based all under one roof at the Queen's Medical Centre.
We work closely with our Adult Surgical Colleagues to treat older Children and prepare them for Transition into Adult Services.

What we do
We provide the following paediatric surgical & urology services for the children of Nottingham and East Midlands.
We are also part of the East Midlands Children's and Young Persons' Integrated Cancer Service (EMCYPICS). EMCYPICS is an integrated service for the investigation of children and young people (0-18 years) with suspected cancer and the treatment of those diagnosed with cancer.
Hernia surgery, undescended testicle surgery, problems of the foreskin, lumps and bumps
Oesophageal surgery, lung surgery, lung tumour surgery, empyema surgery
Surgery for Gallstones, achalasia, gastro-oesophageal reflux, inflammatory bowel disease, constipation
Wilm’s tumours, Neuroblastoma surgery, central venous access
Necrotising enterocolitis (NEC), diaphragmatic hernia repair, oesophageal atresia, malrotation, intestinal atresia, Hirschsprung’s disease, anorectal malformations, posterior urethral valves and renal failure
Hypospadias surgery, vesicoureteric reflux, pelvic ureteric obstruction surgery, renal stone surgery, bladder reconstruction surgery, ambiguous genitalia surgery). Investigations for Gastrointestinal Reflux, Constipation, Bacterial Infection and Oesophageal function
Regional Nephrourology unit
Biofeedback Therapy, non invasive bladder assessment, Urine flow measurements, urodynamics, ambulatory urodynamics, EMG Pelvic floor biofeedback and TENS therapy
